While some streamers wait until the end of the week to drop their biggest shows, Hulu just premiered the second season of a signature hit on a Monday.
Paradise is back with three new episodes to watch this week, while the remaining five episodes of season 2 will drop weekly.
That series tops the list of Watch With Us‘ picks for the Hulu movies and TV shows to binge-watch this week.
Our other picks include a sci-fi/horror movie with some very familiar faces, and a found-family comedy/drama that may take you by surprise.
‘Paradise’ (2025 – Present)
Aside from flashbacks, Paradise season 1 was confined to a city-sized underground bunker following an apocalyptic event that wiped out most of humanity. At least, that’s what we thought happened. Paradise season 2 is broadening the scope, as Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) holds on to the hope that his wife, Teri Rogers-Collins (Enuka Okuma), is still alive somewhere in the outside world.
Shailene Woodley joins the cast this season as Annie, and the show doesn’t waste any time before revealing where she’s been spending the apocalypse and how she’s managed to survive. It’s only a matter of time before Annie and Xavier cross paths in the season’s three-episode premiere. But while Xavier is out in the world, is anyone holding Samantha “Sinatra” Redmond (Julianne Nicholson) in check back inside the bunker? Xavier may not like the answer to that question if he ever makes it back alive.
Paradise is streaming on Hulu.
‘The Astronaut’ (2025)
Kate Mara previously played an astronaut in The Martian, and she’s going back into space in The Astronaut. But only for a short time, as Sam Walker (Mara) hits some unexpected turbulence on her way back down to Earth. It’s under such alarming circumstances that the military places Sam in an isolated cabin for observation, while letting her father, General William Harris (Laurence Fishburne), keep her calm.
Of course, it’s hard to stay calm when Sam is convinced that she’s not alone in the middle of nowhere. She thinks that something may have followed her back down to Earth, and that may be more than just a delusion. Convincing her husband, Mark (Gabriel Luna), may be difficult. But it’s going to be even harder to keep the military from thinking she’s either lost her mind or become a threat to planetary security.
The Astronaut is streaming on Hulu.
‘Rental Family’ (2025)
Rental Family feels like it could be a spiritual sequel to Lost in Translation. This dramedy stars Brendan Fraser as Phillip Vanderploeg, an expatriate American actor who is chasing his dream in Japan. When his traditional acting gigs dry up, Phillip finds the roles of a lifetime while working for a company that hires him to pose as a family member or a friend for total strangers. The people Phillip meets are often lonelier than he is and badly in need of some kind of human connection.
Phillip feels the closest bond to Mia Kawasaki (Shannon Mahina Gorman), a young girl who is led to believe that he is her father. He also befriends Kikuo Hasegawa (Akira Emoto), a retired actor who just wants to be remembered. These roles touch Mia and Kikuo’s lives in profound ways that Phillip didn’t expect, and he has trouble letting them go when his assignments are supposed to end.
Rental Family is streaming on Hulu.
