Who Does Gregory Bridgerton Marry in Bridgerton? Book Backstory Explained

Gregory Bridgerton develops his first crush in Bridgerton season 4, which is the first step in his onscreen love story.

“He fancies someone for the first time,” actor Will Tilston, who plays Gregory, told Young Entertainment in a January 2026 interview. “[I’m] excited to see people see Gregory just, like, all head over heels.”

Gregory is the second youngest Bridgerton sibling in author Julia Quinn’s eight-book regency romance series. In season 4 of the Netflix adaptation, now-teenaged Gregory spends most of his time studying at all-boys private boarding school Eton College. He occasionally returns home for family events, like sister Hyacinth’s (Florence Hunt) dance recital with other preteens. At the cotillion, Gregory finds himself smitten with Rochelle (Zaris-Angel Hator) and wants to dance together before another young man beats him to the punch.

Who Does Gregory Marry in ‘Bridgerton?’

Gregory is the star of author Julia Quinn’s last book in the Bridgerton series, On the Way to the Wedding.

“Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton believes in true love,” a book summary reads. “He is convinced that when he finds the woman of his dreams, he will know in an instant that she is The One. That is exactly what happened, except she wasn’t the one. In fact, the ravishing Miss Hermione Watson is in love with another.”

Hermione’s best friend, Lady Lucinda “Lucy” Abernathy, hopes to save her pal from a “disastrous alliance,” so she agrees to help Gregory win her heart. In the process of getting Gregory his dream girl, Lucy falls in love with the youngest Bridgerton son — despite her own engagement to another suitor.

How Does Gregory’s ‘Bridgerton’ Book End?

Gregory ends up getting his actual dream girl after a messy love triangle, marrying Lucinda “Lucy” Abernathy. They later have nine children: Katharine, Richard, Hermione, Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise and Francesca.

“Who would have thought we’d have nine?” Lucy asks Gregory in an epilogue for On the Way to the Wedding.

Gregory replies, “My mother will surely say that any sensible person would have stopped at eight.”

Actor Will Tilston notably recited a similar line at the end of season 4, joking that his parents should have “stopped at seven” after a teenaged Hyacinth threw a tantrum about her future society debut. (In reality, Hyacinth was scared about her potential future husband dying young like Francesca’s spouse, John Stirling.)

Will Tilston and Florence Hunt are both teenagers in 2026, which had fans worried about whether they would get to lead their own seasons or be replaced with older adult actors.

Jess [Brownell, the showrunner] has said the next two seasons will be either Eloise and then Francesca or Francesca and then Eloise, which makes sense. It takes a few years to film,” Bridgerton author Julia Quinn exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2026. “By the time we get to Hyacinth and Gregory, [their] actors are going to be well into their 20s.”

She continued, “Will it be weird that we knew them when they were 12? We see child stars grow up all the time.”

It’s also not known whether Zaris-Angel Hator would reprise her Bridgerton season 4 role as Rochelle in future episodes or how it’d affect Gregory’s love triangle with Lucy and Hermione.

The first four seasons of Bridgerton are now streaming on Netflix.
