Chloe Kim Reveals Mix-Up With Myles Garrett Before They Started Dating

Myles GarrettMartin Garrix … close enough, right?

On the Thursday, February 26, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Olympian Chloe Kim revealed that her first interaction with her now-boyfriend, Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett, didn’t quite go as expected.

Kim, 25, said her physical therapist (who also treats Garrett) invited her to a Browns game against the Los Angeles Rams. The problem? At the time, she thought she was going to see Martin Garrix, a Dutch DJ, not Garrett, the Browns defensive lineman.

“I thought he said Martin Garrix, so the whole time I was at the game I was waiting for him to perform,” Kim said to host Jimmy Kimmel. “Halftime comes around and I’m like, ‘Where’s Martin Garrix?’”

Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim and Cleveland Browns football star Myles Garrett are one another’s fiercest cheerleaders. “As an athlete, same as herself, she’s unapologetically herself, and she always has a smile on her face,” Garrett told NBC Chicago in February 2026. “She loves doing what she does, and you can kind of see her style […]

Kim went on to say she was cheering for the Rams the entire game, waiting for Garrix to perform.

“Martin Garrix never showed up and I’m like, ‘This guy’s whack! Why is he not showing up to do his performance?’” she said. “And I later found out that we were there to see Myles and not Martin.”

The hilarious mix-up came before the two officially met — the same physical therapist friend later introduced the two.

Since then, the couple has officially gone public with their relationship, starting with the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo in May 2025. They officially announced their relationship at a November 2025 Browns game, where the two shared a pregame kiss on the sidelines.

Most recently, Garrett traveled to Italy to support Kim in her pursuit for Olympic glory. She went on to win a silver medal in the women’s halfpipe event at the 2026 Winter Games. She previously earned gold at the halfpipe at the 2018 and 2022 Games.

At the Milan Winter Olympics, a fake photo of Garrett proposing to Kim went viral on social media.

“Don’t fall for it, guys!” Kim exclaimed on Kimmel, after chuckling at the photo. “It’s not real!”

One reason the photo was clearly faked, she joked on the show, is that Garrett is wearing sunglasses while going down on one knee.

“I don’t want my man to propose to me with sunglasses on,” Kim quipped, earning a cheer from the audience.

“Well, that’s good for him to know,” Kimmel said.

Kim went on to share that she learned about the photo from fellow Olympian Lindsey Vonn.

“She texted me, ‘Oh my gosh, congrats!’ And I’m like, ‘Oh thank you, but you already congratulated me for my medal so, thanks again,’” she said. “And she’s like, ‘On the engagement,’ and I’m like, ‘What?’”

Team USA snowboarder Chloe Kim addressed recent disparaging comments made by President Donald Trump about American Olympian Hunter Hess. “My parents being immigrants, this one definitely hits pretty close to home,” Kim, 25, told reporters at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Monday, February 9. “I think in moments like these it is really important for […]

Kim also said her mom texted her — but she had already figured out that it was a fake photo.

Kimmel then asked Kim a question “for Myles, because sometimes this is confusing for men.” The question was about the fake ring in the photo, and Kimmel asked Kim if — had it been real — it was big enough.

“Oh course!” she said right away.

Kim continued, “I think getting engaged is such a beautiful thing. And I think if you find the right person … anything works. It could be a Ring Pop, I don’t care.”
