Farmer Wants a Wife’s Sean Cavanaugh Reveals Filming Regret

Farmer Wants a Wife star Sean Cavanaugh is warning viewers that you’re going to see some skin on the farm.

“They definitely had me take my shirt off a whole lot. I kind of fell into that trap pretty quickly,” Sean, 22, exclusively shared with Us Weekly before season 4 of Fox’s hit reality show premieres on Tuesday, April 21. “I know I’m going to be shirtless a whole bunch on the season. If I could go back, I wouldn’t have done it. But it is what it is, whatever.”

From all accounts, Sean is so much more than a handsome gentleman who can rock a cowboy hat. (Need proof? Just check his Instagram.)

According to Fox, the reality star is a farm-to-table produce farmer with a 22-acre farm in Solvang, California, looking for his forever partner in crime.

While working on his family’s produce farm, Sean can often be found growing everything from tomatoes and peaches to figs, kiwis and avocados. All the delicious treats end up on the family’s farm-to-table restaurant, The Gathering Table, and other eateries across California.

“I feel like I’m kind of an old soul. I always have been, and I’m very traditional,” Sean said when describing himself. “I was raised Christian, so I had some pretty strict standards that I was looking for. I said I was looking for a best friend, but also a love interest in my life. And I found exactly that.”

While fans will have to tune in to see which lucky lady captured Sean’s heart, the farmer told Us he is looking forward to cooking up some of his favorites with his new flame.

“I’m a big red meat guy,” he teased, “so any steak on the menu would be my specialty, for sure.”

Before Farmer Wants a Wife returns to the small screen, Sean would like to set the record straight on a few misconceptions about farmers.

While the job is rewarding and full of surprises, it also comes with some pain, sweat and maybe even a few tears.

“I feel like there’s a preconceived notion, especially on social media, of farm life being super glamorous and fun, and it totally is that,” he shared. “But there’s also a lot of hard work that goes into it. I would say a lot of people don’t see the hard hours that go into farm life, but if you’re willing to do it, it’s such a fulfilling lifestyle. I hope to be doing it for the rest of my life.”

Who will be the woman alongside him for the ride? Find out when Farmer Wants a Wife season 4 premieres on Fox, Tuesday, April 21, at 8 p.m. ET. Stream new episodes the next day on Hulu.
