TikTok star Alix Earle has learned a lot making the transition to reality TV.
“Shooting for my family’s really show’s been really fun, but it’s definitely been a learning lesson,” Earle, 25, said in a YouTube vlog uploaded Thursday, March 5. “I’ve been overthinking a lot just because it’s something new. I think the biggest thing is, like, I don’t have control [of] it.”
She continued, “There’s moments where I’ll say something, be like, ‘Well, you know that really pissed me off,’ [but then] I see the side that they’re coming from and whatever, and I’m, like, ‘Definitelym’ … [which is] probably not getting in the edit.”
Netflix announced in January that Alix’s family, including sister Ashtin Earle, would headline a new docuseries.
“I share a lot of my life on social media, and people think they know everything there is to know about me and my family, but honestly, there’s still so much more,” Alix said in the press release at the time. “We are so happy to partner with Netflix on this show about our fun, loving, sometimes chaotic modern family, and how we always show up for each other through it all.”
Alix and Ashton, 22, are the two daughters of exes Thomas “TJ” Earle and Alisa Earle. TJ also shares three younger children with wife Ashley Earle.
“Once we really got into filming, I was like, ‘Oh, OK, this is definitely a lot more than people are used to seeing,’” the influencer said in her Thursday video. “It’s really crazy because when there’s an issue … you have to go up to them and figure out the issue. Usually, I feel like sometimes we’ll just sweep things under the rug.”
While the Earles usually avoid difficult conversations to “not disturb the peace,” they had to learn to share those types of moments on their upcoming series.

“It’s kind of like we’re in family therapy, like, you really got to talk through all the issues and have conversations face to face with people,” Alix explained. “It’s also been kind of scary to confront people about how you’re feeling.”
Among the onscreen discussions, Alix and Ashley, 40, dove deep into their relationship.
“Me and my stepmom have been having to have a lot of conversations,” Alix teased. “It’s been good. It’s been scary [and] there’s also been drama with that. It’s a lot, but I think everyone, hopefully, will like it.”
Despite her fears, Alix has enjoyed showcasing the “behind the scenes of everything” in her life, business and personal relationships.
“It’s been fun, I guess, to capture all those moments that sometimes I normally wouldn’t share that happen in real time,” she said. “It’s just scary, the more you share, the more room there is for judgment. I’m not perfect and I know that, so I think [I am] just preparing myself. I know I’m going in and being honest and just got to stay true to myself and hope people like it.”
Alix’s reality TV show does not yet have a premiere date or title.
