Candace Cameron Bure Announces New 2026 Christmas Movie

As the queen of Christmas movies, Candace Cameron Bure has a way of making every season feel like the holidays.

This year, the actress is bringing the festive cheer even earlier, announcing on Friday, March 13, that her next seasonal film for Great American Family will be titled One More Christmas.

“One More Christmas is about marriage, family, and the beauty of second chances,” Cameron Bure, 49, exclusively told Us Weekly. “It asks the question: what if you could have a do-over — but this time with maturity, faith, and a deeper understanding of who you are and who God is at the center of it all?”

Cameron Bure — who starred in 10 Hallmark holiday features before becoming Great American Family’s resident Christmas guru in 2022 — explained that her latest holiday project will show off her new perspective on the genre.

Candace Cameron Bure made her movie debut on the Great American Family television network this holiday season — and she could not be more thrilled over the partnership. “I love that we are bringing stories of faith,” the actress, 48, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, November 21, while promoting her Great American Christmas movies. “Christmas movies are evolving for me. They’re not just about a big-city girl meeting a small-town boyfriend anymore,” she shared with Us. “With [my production company] CandyRock Entertainment, we’re passionate about creating stories that carry meaning, purpose, and hope — stories that remind people it’s never too late for redemption, healing, and love.”

Production for One More Christmas is underway and will be featured as a new original movie for the 2026 Great American Christmas lineup, Great American Media said in a press release shared exclusively with Us on Friday.

In addition to Cameron Bure, who will also serve as an executive producer, the movie will star Jonathan Scarfe.

In the film, Cameron Bure and Scarfe, 50, play exes, Anna and James Campbell, who’ve been divorced for five years and have a “carefully managed truce for the sake of their children.”

“When their daughter invites the entire family to meet her serious boyfriend over Christmas at her grandparents’ rustic Smoky Mountain cabin, the former couple reluctantly agrees,” the logline reads. “Arriving a day early to avoid awkwardness, Anna is surprised to find James has the same idea. But when the worst ice storm in a decade traps them in the mountains with no way out, the exes are forced to confront the history they share — and the possibility that their story may not be finished after all.”

In addition to One More Christmas, Cameron Bure will headline a second holiday film as part of the 2026 Great American Christmas schedule and serve as an executive producer for an additional Christmas project, the network revealed.
