Love Is Blind’s Patrick and Kacie Disagree Over Post-Split Meet Up

Patrick Suzuki and Kacie McIntosh’s whirlwind romance captivated the Love Is Blind season 9 audience — and their breakup was even more eyebrow raising.

Now that their split has aired, Patrick, 31, and Kacie, 34, have different stories as to why they didn’t meet up after the show, each telling Nick Viall on the Tuesday, October 7, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast that the other was to blame.

Patrick claimed that once the pair were back in Denver — after Kacie accepted his proposal and then called off their sight-unseen engagement shortly after they met in person on the show — she refused to take his calls or accept a one-on-one meet up.

“I saw her right when I got back. Not in person. Not one-on-one,” Patrick alleged. “I asked for a conversation. I asked for a one-on-one thing.”

He further claimed that once they got back from the pods he reached out to Kacie and said, “‘Hey, let’s have a conversation before we see everyone.’ She was like, ‘I need time. I need time.’”

When Viall, 45, asked if they ever met up in a one-on-one situation, Patrick said no, alleging that she never gave him “even a phone call.”

Kacie, meanwhile, had a very different version of events. She claimed during her own interview with Viall that aired on the Tuesday podcast episode that she had “intentions” of dating Patrick back in Colorado — she just didn’t want to be engaged because she wasn’t sure she could get the lacking physical attraction.

When it comes to who tried to reach who, Kacie claimed Patrick didn’t get the ball rolling.

“That’s not how it went down. He did not reach out to me. I reached out to him,” she claimed to Viall.

“We got back on, like, a Friday. He wanted to have a phone call or meet up immediately. I was like, ‘Listen, I’m so emotional right now, I just got home it’s not going to be the outcome you want.’”

Kacie then alleged that she heard that while Patrick attended a group event he told the cast “it would’ve been Anna” that he picked if she’d stuck around. (Anna Yuan exited the series without telling her connections shortly after the experiment began.)

“Then I was like, ‘This is not my love story,’” Kacie confessed.

Kacie and Patrick got engaged on season 9 of the Netflix series sight unseen. Once they met in person, Kacie called off the engagement. She later told the cameras she didn’t see a future together because she wasn’t physically attracted to him.

“He deserves somebody better than me. He’s not a bad-looking guy in any sense, but he deserves somebody that is so obsessed with him,” Kacie said on the show. “I just, unfortunately, don’t think my attraction to him is gonna grow that much, and it sucks.”

Kacie has since received a lot of hate online from fans criticizing the way she broke up with Patrick. He, however, seemingly defended her via his Instagram Stories on October 4.

“Hey everyone, I’ve been reading the comments and DMs,” he wrote at the time. “I’m blown away by all the love and support — thank you. I’ll do my best to get back to everyone. Please remember we’re all human.”

Love Is Blind is currently streaming on Netflix. New episodes drop weekly.
