We all know Drake Maye is competitive — but now we know his wife is, too.
The New England Patriots quarterback, in a press conference on Wednesday, January 21, shared that his wife, Ann Michael Maye, enjoys competing as much as he does, and the two play board games with and against each other at home.
“She started playing mahjong,” Maye said. “I haven’t gotten into that. Something like that. Playing Battleship or cards or anything that goes off of me playing her.”
He also shared that the couple picked up tennis in the offseason, although Maye is conscious of trying to protect his shoulder while playing.
“She’ll try anything we can compete in. She’s a great athlete,” he said.
Patriots fans have embraced Ann Michael as one of their own throughout this NFL season and especially now as the Patriots prepare to compete in the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, January 25.
Ann Michael’s viral social media videos and gameday outfits have quickly made her a fan favorite.
Most recently, she rocked a stylish fur coat to the Patriots AFC Divisional Round game against the Houston Texans (which the Pats won, 28-16). Under the fur coat, she wore an “I Heart Drake Maye” sweatshirt, solidifying her status as “Queen of the North.”
“Happy playoffs game two! I’m so excited [and] here is the outfit,” Ann Michael, 22, said in a January 18, TikTok video, revealing her festive ensemble for the occasion. “I’m wearing my ‘I Heart Drake Maye’ sweatshirt, because, obviously.”
In addition to her black hoodie, Ann Michael sported a pair of coordinating Booty by Brabants leggings and knee-high Abercrombie heeled boots.
“My coat is from Abercrombie,” Ann Michael concluded. “Go Pats, let’s win!”

Drake, 23, and Ann Michael have been together since 2020 and officially tied the knot in June 2025. She was by his side when Drake was drafted by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Ann Michael became a viral sensation with her baking videos on social media, and has even shared that the Patriots players are the ones who get to indulge in most of her delicacies.
“The O-line is, like, the main recipients of my baked goods,” she told NBC Sports Boston. “Occasionally, they’ll write me a thank you note. It’s so funny, it’s, like, ‘Just keep feeding us. We need to protect your husband, so we need to keep on the extra weight. If you need a bodyguard, we’ll be your bodyguard.’”
According to a social media post from Patriots public address announcer Mike Riley, Ann Michael also shared some of her baked goods with the crew on their flight to Denver for the AFC Championship game.
“Special thanks to Ann Michael Maye providing cookies on our @JetBlue ✈️ enroute to Denver!” Riley posted. “MVP! MVP! MVP! 🍪”
Ann Michael has seemingly embraced her role with the team and fans. She’ll have at least one more game in the spotlight this season, with a spot in Super Bowl LIX on the line on Sunday.
“The fans are great. It’s actually been really cool,” she gushed. “I feel, like, definitely as the season’s gone on, it’s just blown up. Obviously, [I’m] not from here, didn’t grow up a Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox fan at all.”
