Savannah Guthrie Today Return Unknown Amid Search for Nancy

The timeline for Savannah Guthrie’s return to Today is still unknown, despite a recent report to the contrary.

“There is no announcement regarding Savannah’s return date,” a Today source told Us Weekly exclusively on Monday, March 23. (Page Six previously reported that Savannah could return to the show next month.)

Questions about Savannah, 54, reclaiming her seat next to Today cohost Craig Melvin are still unanswered as 50 days have passed since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing.

Savannah made a brief return to Today’s Studio 1A earlier this month and thanked staff for their continued support amid Nancy’s disappearance. She also promised to return to work.

“I have every intention of coming back,” Savannah said at the time. “I don’t know how to come back, but I don’t know how not to. You’re my family. And I would like to try.”

News broke on February 1 that 84-year-old Nancy went missing from her Arizona home. Savannah immediately stepped away from her role on Today to be with her family as the search continued.

No suspects have been named, but the FBI has released surveillance footage from outside Nancy’s house taken on the night she went missing.

Savannah and her siblings — Camron, 61, and Annie, 56 — have spoken out in several statements pleading for the return of their mother. Their most recent statement came on Saturday, March 21.

“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbors, friends and the people of Tucson. We are all family now,” the family shared in a news special, which aired via Tucson’s local KVOA-TV News channel. “We continue to believe it’s Tucsonians, and the greater Southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case. Someone knows something.”

Questions still remain after Today show host Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the news on February 1, sharing a missing person report via X. Nancy was described as a “vulnerable adult” who was last seen “at her residence” within Arizona’s Catalina Foothills area on the evening […]

The family suggested that someone within Nancy’s community “may have “information that they do not even realize is significant,” asking people to “search their memories” for any details that might be important.

“We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom’s case – please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance,” the family continued. “No detail is too small. It may be the key.”

While the Guthrie family continues to have hope, they told viewers that there will be no “peace” until Nancy returns.

“We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder,” the statement concluded. “Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life but we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest.”
