No matter what was shown on TV, Shawn Booth can confidently say there’s no more beef with Nick Viall.
“No, not anymore. We were [beefing]. That was real,” Booth, 38, shared on the April 2 episode of the “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless” podcast. “It was also very exaggerated, but it was real on the show. But then once you get off the show, you can’t tell what is real and what’s not real from what the producers are telling you, from what these people are telling you, from what this person is telling you.”
Both Viall, 45, and Booth appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette in 2015.
While the finale ended with Booth and Bristowe, 40, engaged, the pair split in 2018.
“I’ve heard from her a couple of times from the past 10 years,” Booth told podcast host Tomi Lahren. “We both live in Nashville, and I ran into her maybe once in the same place.”
To this day, Booth remembers fan sentiment surrounding Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette. At the time, he thought he was being the “hero who stole this girl from this evil guy.”
“Every time I turn the corner, this producer is talking negatively about Nick,” he claimed. “I go to the airport, people are like, ‘You really gotta make sure, you’re gonna be Captain America, and he’s so bad.’ It’s, like, everywhere you turn. You don’t know what’s up and what’s down.”

Now that the cameras have been far away from Booth’s life, the personal trainer and owner of BC Block Nashville has a different perspective on some things.
“Looking back on it, it was definitely a lot more exaggerated than what it was,” he shared. “But it was a real beef on the show. I was trying to ‘protect my girl’ at the time. I didn’t think he was there for the ‘right reasons.’”
More than 10 years after appearing on ABC’s hit reality show, Booth’s life looks completely different.
In December 2023, Booth welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Audrey “Dre” Joseph.
“Our boy is two. Two years of learning who he is & feeling the world shift because he’s in it,” the couple wrote via Instagram in December 2025. “Locks truly is joy personified & if you look up the definition for ‘laughter’ in the dictionary, I’m certain you’ll see a picture of his face. We already miss these days we are living in.”
