Usher and Chris Brown are putting the past behind them — and teaming up for a new concert tour.
“IT’S TIME,” Usher, 47, and Brown, 36, wrote in a joint Instagram post on Friday, April 10, adding hashtags for “R&B Tour” and “Raymond & Brown.” (Usher’s full name is Usher Raymond IV.)
The two musicians also uploaded a video on Friday in which they each revved up a motorcycle facing the other. After racing around a city, Usher and Brown took off their helmets to address their opponent.
“It’s time,” Usher said, before Brown replied, “Hell yeah.”
Further details about the upcoming tour have not been revealed.
Once close friends and collaborators, Usher and Brown reportedly got into a heated argument at Brown’s 34th birthday party in Las Vegas in May 2023. In footage obtained by TMZ, Usher yelled at Brown for allegedly ignoring fellow guest Teyana Taylor. Brown subsequently left the venue, as did Usher, who allegedly returned inside moments later with a bloody nose. (Us Weekly reached out for comment at the time.)
Neither Brown nor Usher publicly addressed the alleged incident and each performed sets at Usher’s “Lovers & Friends Festival” that same night.
“Hey y’all, we’re here [and] having a great time,” Usher said in a video shared via his Instagram Stories. “See y’all soon!”

After the festival, Usher shared another social media message.
“U know we shut Vegas down right? 😏 @loversandfriendsfest,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “I want to give a special shoutout to these queens @arilennox @sosobrat @munilong @summerwalker for blessing the stage. Last but not least, thank u to my brother @jermainedupri for joining me. 🙏🏾.”
Brown also gushed about his experience at the music festival.
“LOVERS AND FRIENDS ❤️💪🏽,” the “Run It” rapper captioned footage from his set. “THX VEGAS for an amazing time.”
Usher and Brown’s friendship goes back to 2005 after Brown burst onto the music scene. The pair later collaborated on multiple duets, including “New Flame” and “Party,” and left the door open for future duets.
“If that ever happens, it’ll be one of the biggest things that anybody has ever experienced in entertainment in celebration of two people who love each other,” Usher told BigBoyTV in April 2023. “I love Chris. I don’t like his music — I love his music [and] I love him. He’s my little brother, and he’s always been there for me, and I’ve always been there with him. Through hard ups and down times, I’ve been there with him. And for us to be able to celebrate what we do together, man, that’ll be crazy.”
